Horsemanship Education Course: Groundwork and Round Pen Training This two-week ground training course may be taken independently, or as part of the complete course and consists of all aspects of groundwork. You will be taught to use the horse's natural characteristics to teach the following: Round Pen Work: Teaches the horse to focus on you, start under saddle, break bad habits, or adjust attitude to become a willing partner. Spook Training: Teaches the horse to stop his feet and look at whatever is scaring him, rather than spinning around or bolting away V.S.S. A "Very Special Safety" lesson, which teaches directional control on the lead rope, to stand quietly, to respect your space, not to run into or over you and to develop the horse's attention span. Trailer Loading: To teach the horse to go into the trailer safely and calmly and to unload in a slow, relaxed manner. Sacking out: Desensitizes the horse to all the things that he will encounter on a daily basis; your hands, blankets, bridles, saddles, ropes etc. Also - you will learn how to teach halter breaking, advanced leading, first time mounting, what to do on your first rides, getting the horse comfortable with a rider, and more... ProTrack™: Groundwork and Round Pen Training We take all of the above to the next level of skill and expertise; Bob & Suzanne share the secrets of the pros and a few surprises along the way! Monday -Thursday - more hands on instruction, note taking sessions, specific feedback, troubleshooting, etc.
Horsemanship Education Course: Basic Under Saddle Training All aspects of a horse's basic "under saddle" education will be addressed in this session. This includes how to develop balance, control and suppleness at the walk, trot and canter, lateral work, introduction to trails and trail obstacles, and much more. You will learn Bob & Suzanne's Two as One horsemanship methods of gaining control of the horse's individual body parts, enabling you to teach directional control, giving to the bit and direct reining, stopping, go cue, backing, etc. Suzanne will introduce points of equitation and Centered Riding(r) which improve your equestrian technique, balance, quality of communication and control with lots of supportive feedback and specific exercises to improve effectiveness. ProTrack™: Basic Under Saddle Training We take all of the above to the next level of skill and expertise; Bob & Suzanne share the secrets of the pros and a few surprises along the way! Monday -Thursday - more hands on instruction, note taking sessions, specific feedback, troubleshooting, etc. Horsemanship Education Course: Advanced Under Saddle Training This is where our "trail safe" horse begins the transformation to "performance level horse". You shall learn techniques to teach more balanced cantering, circles, leads, leg and seat cues, collection, neck reining (if desired), side passing, correct backing, advanced stops, turns on forehand, spins or turns on the haunches, and more sophisticated lateral work. Suzanne will teach more in-depth Centered Riding instruction to enhance performance and cut your training time. The program is easily adaptable to either English or Western Riding. ProTrack™ 1 ,2, and 3 In the week that follows each course we take all of the above to the next level of skill and expertise; Bob & Suzanne share the secrets of the pros and a few surprises along the way! A limited number of participants are accepted in order to maintain a small teacher/student ratio allowing for personalized instruction.
