but encouraged.
Watch the
horse's learning process unfold as Bob teaches it to:
Turn and face him when asked
Respond to pressure on the lead rope
Stand quietly for vet/farrier/saddling
Have his legs handled safely
Relax when he becomes excited
Accept bridle easily
Deal with fear and new objects
Bob will also talk about teaching horses to:
Cross streams and trail objects safely and calmly
Go on cue every time you ask
Overcome rearing
Stop bucking, bolting and biting

demonstrate the how and why of using reins to communicate with
the horse. He'll talk about leg and seat cues and demonstrate
various points using observers and riders.

SUNDAY/MONDAY/TUESDAY MOUNTED CLINIC
(9AM - 5PM)
SUNDAY:
Bob will
start the riding clinic by instructing participants how to
communicate with their horses through the reins.
We'll
play some games with horses while we are safely on the ground.
These exercises are designed to gain the horses trust.
Then
the first 4 points of Bob's 10 points "Partnership Training"
method will be taught. Horses will learn to "give"
to the bit and become lighter, softer and more responsive.
Suzanne
will teach several points of equitation, such as breathing,
body position, balancing, etc. These concepts will be presented
in a step by step approach both on the ground and on horseback.
Riders
are taught to make requests in a clear, consistent manner,
and reward the correct reply when given.
MONDAY:
Will focus on the start of gaining control of
the horse's individual body parts. The next 3 points of Bob's
10 point "Partnership Training" method will be taught,
enabling the rider to teach:
Lateral work
How to recognize and get specific leads
How to control direction, speed, and much more...
Suzanne
will teach Centered Riding® unmounted exercises which
will be carried over into mounted exercises and techniques.
TUESDAY:
Will focus on a review of the previous day
and the last 3 points of Bob's "Partnership Training"
method enabling riders to teach their horse:
Emergency stop
Get off the bit exercise
A balanced, finished stop
A soft collected backup |
